I've got some good news for you...
First, crazy enough, today was my 400th Post!

Doesn't seem like i've posted that many times, but I have. :)

Well, so over the last few months, i have had the honor of Collaborating with the lovely people at Lancôme!
I was asked to make their Holiday cards.
So, i thought i would post the Holiday cards today!
There is more to come! Lancôme is a great company, and it was great working with them :)

Alrighty, the last bit of news is...
I will be taking a Two Week Break from Blogging.
Like i said, i've been pretty run down, sick, and worn out.
So, i decided to take two weeks off from everything,
and just rest up for the New Year.
So don't worry, I will be back posting on

January 6, 2010

Love you all and Merry Christmas!
P.S. Thank you so much Fashionista. You're seriously too nice.

Hello friends!

I sure am, this is by far my favorite time of year.
Oh thank you all for you kind words and kind wish for me to feel better.
I'm Starting to feel a bit better. :)
I think i'm about ready for a vacation.
I realized i haven't taken a Vacation in 2 or 3 years,
so i think it's about time to take some time off...
been so run down lately.

Today i wanted to post a portrait i drew of one of my all time Favorite Artist, Aubrey Beardsley.
Aubrey Beardsley was born 21 August 1872, and he died at the young age of 25.
It's amazing to me his skill and the amount of art he produced in such a short period of time.
The Line work and detail in all his pieces are incredible.
I hope you like this tribute,
and hope you are having wonderful day!

P.s. RIP Brittany Murphy you where incredible. Your role of Luanne on King of the Hill is one of my favorite characters ever...

The Queen of Parnassus

Lily Cole as a queen in Danny Roberts

Hey Friends!
How are you?
Well, i know i have already posted this picture,
but was going through my etsy store and making sure all the items were up,
when i saw this piece.
i almost forgot about it.
i really like how it turned out.
Also, since i still can't get "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" out of my head,
i thought posting a Lily Cole image would be fitting.
I'm resting up my friends.
Haven't drawn in 3 weeks, which is the longest period i've gone without drawing in 3 or 4 years!
So crazy... just been super tired,
but i hope you all have a magical day!

Well, my friends, since i posted about my brother yesterday,
I thought i would post this painting i did 3 or 4 years ago for my brother's birthday.
The painting is 4ft by 5ft and is on pieces of water color paper. :)
I've been really wanting to find some random forest to go on an adventure lately!
Have i ever told you about my obsession/biggest "want" ever?
Well, it's a TREEHOUSE!
Shoot! I have wanted one so, so, so bad!
Still have never had one..
maybe one of these days.
Well, i hope you all are having a wonderful day!

David T. Roberts - Damien T. Wallace

December 14, 2009

danny roberts portrait of his Brother David Roberts

Happy Monday friends!
How have you been?
I've been a little under the weather lately.
Been feeling pretty sick and exhausted... not sure what's up..
But on the bright side, i've been laying low and watching a lot of old movies.
Like I watched, for the first time, "White Christmas" and "Holiday Inn"
which were mind blowing good!
I mean, the actors of those days could sing and dance.
It's mesmorizing! Like i've said before, Fred Astaire is my hero.
He is amazing. :)
Also, watched the Sound of Music today!
I wish they still made movies like those great old movies....

Well, the drawing today is of my brother David Roberts that i drew about 3 years ago. :)
My brother is my best friend, and has been incredible in helping me with business and emails,
some of you have had the pleasure of meeting him.
So i thought i would post about him :)
He also is a contributor with me, Stacy Dupree, Cat Khan (Knightcat), Geri Hirsch, Alice Baxley & Ryan Baxley on
"The Dream Walking Society"

P.S. If you're wondering about why the name "Damien T. Wallace" is up in the title, that is my brother's random nickname... :)

Daria Werbowy in danny roberts Christmas painting

Well, It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas,
and It's Beginning to FEEL a lot like Christmas.
Wow! It has been FREEZING in California.
I seriously don't remember the last time it was this cold around here!
I'm a wimp when it comes cold...
I don't know how I'm going to make it through Fashion Week in NYC in February...
going to freeze to death out there!

Well, the painting today is a little Christmas Painting
I did a few weeks back.
I chose the lovely Miss Daria Werbowy to be the face reference for the painting.
I hope you like it.
For some reason, it reminds me of candy!
haha and i'm a sucker for candy!

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

December 9, 2009

Danny Roberts drawing of Lily Cole holding a sword and Christopher Plummer in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

Greetings, my friends...
Well, last night i took a journey into greatness,
when i saw "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" at a screening in Nike's theatre in L.A.
I truly don't remember the last time i saw a movie that good in the theatre.
The acting, the visuals, & the story were all incredible!
Tom Wait was so impressive, he had a cool, cold, evil to his character.
And Heath Ledger was amazing, it was such a different role for him,
he was really an amazing actor.

Also, it was a trip seeing Lily Cole in the movie!
She was really great in the movie!
It was really fun seeing the girl that i learned how to draw off of, acting in a movie.
She really has one of the greatest looks,
so fun..

Well, all and all, i completely loved the movie.
I'm dying for it to come out in the theatre's so i can see it again and again.
I did this little sketch today for the movie...
i hope you like it :)

Medicine for Sick & the Rained Upon

December 7, 2009

Well, my friends,
I'm sorry for no drawing today.
I'm kinda rundown and sick today,
so I'm laying low, about to cruise off to dreamland.
But i thought i'd post a video of my good friend Miss Christie Dupree (who is also currently sick! haah)
Christie and i have co-written and collaborated on a few songs together and are going to be doing some more soon.
Click Here to hear one of our songs :)
Well, today has been one of those freezing cold and stormy rain days (which i love),
and i stumbled on to this video of Christie playing one of her songs,
and i just felt like it fit the mood of today perfectly.
I hope you like it! :)

P.S. Doesn't she have the most amazing voice?! ;)

Hello friends!
Sorry about the belated Inspiration Friday post!
Last night, my brother and i had dinner with Helen Zhu (ceo of Chictopia.com)
and we were having so much fun that the dinner turned into a 5 hour dinner! haha
So, needless to say, i arrived home a little late, so that is why Inspiration Friday is now Inspiration Saturday!
The theme this week is "I Would Travel Through Fire For You".
I really like how the collection of images turned out!
I hope you like it, too!
I'm excited cause we are decorating for Christmas today!! Woot, woot! :)
So i must get going cause, in the words of the White Rabbit, "I'm Late, I'm Late, for a very important date!"
Merry Christmas! ;)

P.S. If you know who any of the photographers of these pictures are, i would love to give them credit. Just let me know and i will.
The first picture of Sasha is by Miles Aldridge, i think. ;) The Second Row picture by Sarah Moon. Also, i think the 3rd image is by Toulouse Lautrec. The B&W image on the fourth picture set is by Steven Meisel.

P.s.s Got a new hair cut! haha don't know if you care... just need something new to post in the image diary! ha hope you like it. :)

Hello, hello Friends,
How's the first day of December going for you?
Anything interesting going on >>>?
Anyone see New Moon?
I've never seen it, but it's kinda funny hearing everyone's take on it.
It seems like everyone is saying, "I loved it, but the acting is terrible."
hahaha Is that how it is?
Well, i have a meeting tomorrow with a company my friend Jason Jones (who is an amazing artist; check him out here) works for.
I'm meeting with the company he works for to discuss a project i'm pretty excited about...
can't give away too much yet... but all i can say is, i'm pretty excited!

The painting today is 215 out of Volume 3 of my Character Sketchbook.
It's going to be so fun to publish this book some day...
I'm also having fun drawing Tanya Dziahileva,
she has such fun features.
Well, i hope you all are having a wonderful day!

P.S. I can't believe Fashion Week is only a few months away...
the world is moving too fast!
