My Little Girl Sketch

Hey Friends!
So today is something a little different, i guess.
I found this picture of Walt Disney's muse Kathryn Beaumont.
Kathryn is the voice and the model for the Character "Wendy" from "Peter Pan"
and she is also "Alice" of "Alice and Wonderland".
So with that said, I found this picture of Kathryn Beaumont as a little girl in the movie "It Happened One Sunday".
She was so completely adorable, i did this little sketch of her.
I really like how it turned out :)

The Girl In the Darkness

Good day!
How are you doing?
Today has been wonderfully relaxing.
I sat and painted all day.
It been a cold coffee day for the last two days (which is my favorite kind!)
Which on a side note, this has been one crazy summer!
I can't remember a summer being this cold.
I love it! I know it sounds weird, but i love cool weather. :)

The Painting today is kinda different, huh?
It's a little bit on the darker/creepy-ish or maybe not creepy but Mysterious side.
But i really like how it turned out.
It's a crazy mixture of Pen, Color Pencil, Water Color, Ink, CRAYONS!!!
hahaha I love Crayons and i haven't colored with them in so long!

Frida Gustavsson - Vogue Germany

Hey friends!
How are you doing?
Your weekend going well?
Mine has been wonderful!
I got to see my friend Sarah Jaffe perform last night.
And oh my, oh my! She is amazing, it was such a Brilliant Concert!
Then today, i've just have been hanging out with my brother and my friend Sean.
We went to a vintage book store and i got some books,
then I sat and played piano for the first time in a while this afternoon...
Ah yes, so relaxing.

Well, the painting today is of the Lovely Swedish Model
Frida Gustavsson on the cover of Vogue Germany.
I saw this cover for the first time about a month ago,
and i was blown away!
The picture is so bright and electric,
and Frida is so captivating on the cover.
So, of course, i've been dying to paint it,
and finally got around to painting it.

Josette & The Black Hat

Hey hey hey!
Happy thursday!
How was your day?
I'm so exhausted, but oh well, such is life. :)
The Painting today is of a character named Josette from a Story I'm writing.
I've been watching a lot of 1930s movies lately so i think that era's style influenced this picture.
... Those old movies were pure magic!

Oh, also I started on part of the final version of the animation.
Yikes this might take a while...
I'm shooting for the animation to be 40 seconds,
which is going to be insanely time consuming,
but i hope yawl will like the the final version :)

A Live Sketch of My Brother

A Little More Polished Version ;)

Hey Friends, i worked all day drawing some more frames for the animation below.
Yikes, this animation stuff is brutal!
But I'm trying my best to finish it!
i think it will turn out cool :)
But last night i tried to do a little more polished version of a sketch/painting from one of the frames.
What do you think?
I'm hoping the polished animation will turn out kind of like this piece :)

And Then I Dove in Swan Lake...

So my Friends, how are you doing?
Happy Father's Day to all your Fathers out there,
and especially to my father! ;)
i don't know if i've mentioned that learning new things is one of my favorite pastimes.
So with that said, I spent the weekend trying to learn how to animate!
hah What the heck! It's is so painfully tedious!
haha Well, anyway, a friend of mine is a Ballerina,
and told me i should do some drawing of them, so i thought a ballerina would be perfect to animate.
This is just a rough Pencil Test,
I think it would be really cool to do a version of it that is a really high quality, very detailed version.
What do you think???
It would be brutal and take days and days,
but i think it would look really cool.
Oh so, after doing a little ballet research for this piece,
i have a new goal...
I want to go the Paris Opera Ballet and sketch and paint there for a day or two.
Hopefully, if i ever make it out to Paris i will do it ;)

Chris Benz Models & Candy Colors

Well my friends!
How are you doing this week?
Well this weekend, i bought a bunch of new art supplies i've never tried before,
so this was my first little experiment with them.
I have hundreds of pictures that i took at the Chris Benz Collection last Fashion Week.
So i thought, why not paint another one of those pictures :)
The Profile is of the Elite's lovely Masha Kirsanova,
but I'm not sure who the girl in the black hood is.
I really like how the it turned out :)

The Studio That Lives

My Line with Forever21 is out Today! :)

Hey Friends, how are you doing today?
How was your weekend?
And for you who live in the U.S. how was your extended weekend?
Haha mine was pretty long...
But I am really happy to say my Collaboration Line with Forever 21 is in stores today.
I still haven't seen them in real life, but I can't wait to!
It's funny how life kinda comes back around on you, huh?
I mean when I was 13 I started a little tee shirt company,
and I sold them to my friends and kids at school.
I never really thought I would kind of be doing that again.
But now sitting here and looking at all the shirts & tanks together,
I'm fully having flashbacks! haah :)

As for the art work, 5 of the shirts are from my Blogger Portrait Series,
which I started almost 2 years ago...(wow can't believe it was that long ago.. hah)
It's been fun to share the opportunity with my friends,
Carolina Engman (FashionSquad), Geri Hirsch (Because I'm Addicted), Agathe Molvik (Style Bytes), Alice (AlicePoint), and Louise Ebel (Miss Pandora).
I think one of the most amazing things about the internet is that
people from all over the world can collaborate, and inspire each other daily... so amazing!
