Good morning! How are you all doing?!
I had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Spent it with my family, close friends, and the "Axis of Awesome".
haha It was really fun!
Also got a new watercolor set so i have been playing around with that over the last couple days!

So Today's painting is my favorite for my Top Newcomers Spring 2011.
It's of the lovely miss Bambi Northwood-Blyth.
I first heard of Bambi from my friend Cat's (knightcat) blog posts.
So needless to say i was really excited about painting her.
I don't know, I feel like there is something about the this painting that has a sort of Classic elegance to it.
It's actually my current computer back drop right now haha.

Britt Maren - Top Newcomers Spring 2011 Series

Hey Friends!
So the Painting today is from the Top Newcomers Spring 2011 Series i did for Models.com.
The Painting is Britt Maren.
Britt has a really interesting look, it's very versatile.
Basically before i did any of the paintings, i looked through about 100 pictures of each of the girls
so i could get a sense of their personality.
I found that usually helps me alot.
But Britt really has a wide range of looks.
When i saw this picture, i instantly wanted to paint it.
There was just something in the pose & expression that i really liked. :)

I'm currently working on improving my drawing and painting skills right now....
But hopefully i should have some new different stuff for you soon ;)

Tribute to Dobby the House Elf

Hello!
How was your weekend?
Mine was so so so much fun!
Spent the weekend hanging out with my brother & the DuPree family.
And I to got see Eisley + Christie Dupree perform a couple times.
They sounded amazing!

It actually was my first time seeing Christie perform live.
Which is kinda crazy cause she sings on a few songs I've written.
But anyways, she was incredible!

Also as I'm sure you can guess, I saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!
Oh my goodness gracious great balls of fire! It was amazing!
By far the best movie HP so far.
They really stepped it up on this one.
No joke, I was so inspired after seeing it that I didn't fall asleep till 3 or 4 in the morning.... haha
As we were walking out of the theater, my first words to my brother were "I'm going to paint a tribute to Dobby the House Elf"
which for you non-HP people, Dobby is a character in the stories.
Thus this picture... haa
Thought he would be a perfect addition to my "Pop Culture Series". :)
It's Ink, Water color, and Colored Pencil layered on ridiculously thick watercolor paper.
I hope you like it!

Happy Harry Potter Day!
Well if you were wondering... yes I am a big Harry Potter nerd!
and yes i'm excited about the movie! :)
hahaha Also really excited cause my good friends from Texas, Eisley & Christie Dupree are coming into town today!
So it's pretty much a double whammy today! ha
How has your week been?
Mine was alright, it's just been a whirlwind for the last two years.
Which has been amazing, but also so so so exhausting.
I'm about ready to slow things down, and get back to Learning & Experimenting...
Which I'm pretty sure i get to start doing Monday.
I basically have a whole long list of things i want to try and learn how to do...
But i think the #1 thing on my list to learn is how to sculpt!
Seriously have always wanted to do that but never have got to.
Do any of you have anythings you would like to see me learn?
Also I really hope you like today's selection of images for Inspiration Friday.
I've been really liking grouping Camilla Akrans & Norman Parkinson's work together.
Not sure why, but it really works well together.

Arizona Muse - Top Newcomers Spring 2011

Well hello, my friends!
How was your weekend? Mine was amazing.
It was like the first weekend where I wasn't working through it in like 12 weeks!
yep yep... so the Top Model Newcomer of the day is Arizona Muse!
She was really fun to paint.
She has a real wholesome familiar look to her. She actually reminds me a lot of a childhood friend of mine,
which I think made it easy to paint her.

So when i was tasked with painting each of the Top Newcomers of Spring 2011 for models.com,
I went on a searching spree for references of Arizona.
For some reason, this one runway photo of her really stood out to me.
I think my favorite thing about this picture of her
is the confidence/determined expression on her face.
I used a mixture of pen, pencil, ink, & acrylic on this one. and pretty much the entire series.
What do you think of how it turned out?

The Top NewComers Spring 2011

Hey Friends!
Well they are finally up!
I painted the The Top NewComers S/S 11 for Models.com!
This has been one of the reasons i've been working so much!
I really Like how they turned out.

I will be Posting bigger versions of each of the paintings over the next two weeks.
It was fun painting these girls cause i pretty much hadn't seen most of them before.

How are you doing?
How was your week?
It's heating up a little bit after this cold summer,
which means my studio is painfully hot!
But besides that, it's all good.

Wow i can't believe it's November already.
Been working non-stop for the last 3 months.
I'm just finishing up a few projects right now
And should have a little over 10 Paintings to show you next week.
Really excited about them, can't wait for you too see them.

Chris Benz Spring 2011 Collection

Hey there my friends!
How was your Halloween?
Did Yawl see Carolina?!
She was Margot Tenenbaum for Halloween, and it was mind blowing amazing!

The painting today is one i did for Sundance Channel's Full Frontal Fashion of Chris Benz Collection.
It was one of my Favorite shows i went to this season.
Chris Benz is really a nice person and his collections are always so much fun.
This season, the shoes were amazing too!
I still need to post all the pictures i took at it.
Well, this is just one of hopefully many paintings from this collection!
