The Dress that Came Alive

So i finally made a video for the Collaboration i did with Caravan this last Fashion Week.
I've been wanting to make this video for months now...
The concept was to show the process form concept to being made.
The Song is by a musician i just heard for the first time two weeks ago named Peter Broderick.
His music is pretty amazing, and was a prefect fit for the vibe I wanted for the video.
The Girls in the video are the lovely Kylie Bisutti & Chiara.
I had a lot of fun designing the dresses and really like how they turned out.

The Profile of Natasha Belobrovik

Well, like i said a few weeks back, i'm going to start to post all the photo's i took at last Fashion Week.
This picture is of one of my Favorite girls of Andy and Debb Spring 2011 Presentation.
Her name is Natasha Belobrovik.
I really like this picture because of how the shadow is cast across her face.
It has a really calm feel to it,
which is kinda ironic cause it was taken at the peak of crazi-ness backstage.
Also, she has such an amazing profile. huh?

So today has been a big time multi-tasking day...
I'm currently exporting a new video i edited for you all.
I'm excited to show you it.
Also about to leave for the Lumber yard,
Cause i'm finally going to build some large format shelves to keep my originals safe.
I seriously have been needing to do this for some time now.
I have thousands of Originals that have nowhere to go.
Also need to get some drawings done... big day, should be fun.

The Girl and the Tiger

Ok so i just found this old sketch i just had to post!
I seriously completely forgot about it.
I drew it like 3 or 4 years ago, but there is something about it i really like.
I remember i was web surfing on Myspace or Flickr...
i came across this self-portrait that Scarlett Barry had done,
and it was fun looking, the next thing i knew, i was sketching on the nearest piece of paper,
and this was born.

The Arrangements of Andy & Debb spring 2011

Happy Belated Christmas!
Sorry for lack of posts! i think my mind goes into vacation mode this time of year.
Did you all have a good holiday?
This year was one of the best Christmas' ever!
My mom surprised all of us with a gift that was the best ever!
She secretly found a company that could convert old tapes to DVD,
so she got all our home movies from when i was born up to when i was 5 years old on DVD!
You don't know how much fun it was sitting with my family watching those videos.
I really hadn't seen the videos before, it brought back so many memories...
So watch out! i think I'm going to make some short films & incorporate the old footage into them ;)


So the Photo today is from Andy & Debb Spring 2011.

This was the first full show that my brother David and I both had cameras to take pictures at.
We bought his camera a day earlier so, needless to say, we have a lot of pictures here!
There were alot of elements I loved about this show.
The color and the garment structure, but also I loved the arrangement of the models at the presentation.
I had a lot of fun walking around and playing around with the composition.
I especially love Ksenia Malanova's expression (the girl on the left hand side)

Julia Saner - Top Newcomers Spring 2011

Hello Hello!

How is your day going?
Today's painting i think is my favorite out of the Top Newcomers Spring 2011 Series i did for Models.com.
It's of a Julia Saner, who was the winner of Elite Model Look Switzerland 2009.
Julia has a great wholesome look.
When i was looking through pictures of her,
there was this one profile photo of her that really inspired me.
There was something so pensive about her expression it made me instantly know that was what i was going to paint.
All and all I really like how it turned out.

The City on the Water- Concept Painting

Awe morning!
Wow feels good NOT waking up at 2:00 am today! haha
It's been crazy here, been raining non-stop for a couple of weeks...
Which i have to say, has put me in a perfect mood for painting. :)
The painting today is one of the first i've done with my new water color set.
I had a lot of fun layering on this one.
This is just a concept painting for a story i'm working on with my brother.
You honestly have no idea how excited i am to show & tell you the story...

Gesture Study of the Day

Good morning!
So i definitely messed up big time last night and set my alarm to 1:30 a.m. on accident...
which is bad, i know, but what was worst, an hour later after i went back to bed, I woke up wide awake!
haha yikes~ seriously, so bad, so i just got up and started working...
Somehow i have a feeling i'm going to pass out midday today! haha
But anyway, had an great weekend, my sister & my brother-in-law had a Christmas party on Saturday.
It was awesome seeing them.
Also yesterday, saw Tron with my family!
Movie was great, and Daft Punk & the Art Direction was perfect!

So i've been trying to get better at drawing and painting different gestures and expressions.
The Sketch today was a little study sketch i did this last week.
I really like how it turned out.
It's definitely a rougher sketch but i really like how expressive she is.
I hope you like it too :)

So! Last night I went to see the play, "Peter Pan" with my family!
It was incredible, so much fun.
That is only the 3rd play i have ever seen, but i am dying to see more.
It's so magical!

I was really excited to work in one of my all time favorite pictures by my friend Chadwick Tyler (it's the second image on the left).

The Song Improv Experiment

Well Good Morning!
How are you doing today?
Thank you so much for your kind words on the Video!
There will hopefully be more where that came from ;)
I thought i would post a song i wrote the other day for you all.
I tried a fun little experiment on this one...
What i did was sit at a piano and hit record and i started just playing whatever came in my head (which i posted on my tumblr last week)
and since the song was all improv, the timing was really bad and stuff like that.
So i went back through and fixed the timing and then kept those same notes.
Then played around with using different instruments to playing different parts of the song...
and pretty much this song was born! haha
Sorry if the mix on it isn't the best,
Mixing is an art in itself, and i am terrible at that art! ha

Remembering Rachel

Hey Friends, how was your weekend?
Mine was great! My Family and i went Stand up paddle boarding today,
and it was pretty fun.
Also i finally finished Editing the video i shot at Rachel Antonoff's Spring 2011 Presentation!
I'm really happy on how the video turned out.
My goal was to create a video that captured the mood i felt at the presentation
(which is pretty much the mood i feel 85.3% of the time... hah)
the song in the video is from a group called "Slowblow".
And this song has been one of my favorites for a while so i was so happy that it was a perfect fit for this video!

Lil Finn - Character Development Sketch

Hey Friends,
So today's painting is the first of hopefully a lot more character Development Sketches.
I've been working developing story ideas and trying to learn how to develop drawn characters.
A little while back i stumbled on to the character model sheets for Pinocchio,
and i was so inspired i though i would make some of my own.

This was my first attempt at developing a character named "Lil Finn".
Though i like how this water color sketch turned out, it's definitely not there yet.
Still trying to get the hang of all this!
But i really hope you like it! :)

Oh lastly, I wrote you all a song this weekend!
I think i will try to upload it for this Inspiration Friday! :)
